BLADENBORO – Hezekiah Blanks pitched a no-hitter and struck out 9 batters to lead unbeaten Bladenboro to a 14-0 Waccamaw Middle School Conferene baseball victory over Tabor City Tuesday.

Blanks issued 2 walks but both of those runners were thrown out on the bases.

Blanks reached base on catcher’s interference, and Gavin Elks walked to start the Bulldog 1st inning. Weston Hilburn blasted a double to right-centerfield that scored both runners.

Ryan Dove and Luke Howell smacked singles to begin the Bulldog 2nd inning. Blanks walked. Elks’ fielder’s choice plated Dove, and Aiden Russ drove in Howell with a single. Hilburn drilled a triple down the leftfield line that scored Blanks and Russ.

Hunter Hester smacked a single that scored Hilburn. Cade Allen swatted a single, and Dove reached base on an error as Hester scored. Howell reached base as Allen score and Dove scored. Brady Durden walked, and Howell scored as the lead grew to 11-0.

Chase Bryan walked, and Jonah Bryan reached base on an error. Hilburn sliced a single to left that scored Chase Bryan and Jonah Bryan. Justin Spaulding and Jackson Pait drew walks, and Spaulding scored the final Bulldog run.

Hilburn batted a perfect 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, 6 runs batted in and a run scored. Russ, Hester, Allen, Dove and Howell connected for one hit each. Blanks, Dove and Howell scored 2 runs each, Russ, Jonah Bryan, Elks, Chase Bryan, Hester, Allen and Spaulding have scored one run each.

Coach Tim Benton’s Bulldogs improved to 3-0 on the season and will travel to Whiteville Central Thursday.
