ELIZABETHTOWN – Davion Lewis pitched a no-hitter and struck out 12 batters to lead Emereau Bladen to an 11-1 non-conference middle school baseball victory over Clarkton School of Discovery Thursday at Bladen County Park.

Claxton Tatum was hit by a pitch and scored the Clarkton run in the 4th run. Keyshawn Kemp walked in the 5th inning to account for the other Blue Devil baserunner against Lewis.

Lewis and Jake Gooden slammed back-to-back doubles in the 1st inning to account for the first Aviator run. Catcher Josh Dawson knocked in Gooden with the 2nd Clarkton run.

Easton Bostic drew a walk to begin the Emereau 2nd inning and raced home when Cade Rogers smacked a single. Tyler Eason belted a single that scored Rogers and padded the lead to 4-0.

Rogers led off the Emereau 4th inning with a single but was retired on Zach Sholar’s fielder’s choice. Eason and Lewis cracked singles that brought home Sholar, and 3 CSD errors allowed Lewis and Gooden to score and stretch the Aviator lead to 7-1.

Landyn Scott, Sholar and Eason swatted consecutive 2-out singles in the Emereau 5th inning that plated Scott. Lewis walloped a triple that scored Sholar and Eason. Lewis then scored to end the game on the mercy rule.

Eason turned in a 3-for-4 game at the plate, scored a run and had 2 RBIs. Lewis batted 3-for-4 with a triple, a double, 3 runs scored and 3 runs batted in to lead the Aviator hitters. Sholar also finished 3-for-4 with a run scored and 2 RBIs. Rogers batted a perfect 2-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI. Gooden was 2-for-3 with a double, 2 runs scored and an RBI.

Sholar finished 2-for-4 at the plate with 2 runs scored. Bostic, Josh Dawson and Scott added 1 hit each. Bostic also scored a run.
