ELIZABETHTOWN – Whiteville Central rallied past Emereau Bladen with 4 runs in the final 2 innings and claimed a 6-3 middle school baseball victory Tuesday.

Central led 2-0 early, but Emereau scored 3 times in the 3rd inning. Easton Bostic walked, and Tredon Scott reached on an error to ignite the rally. Cade Rogers and Tyler Eason smashed singles that scored Bostic and Rogers, and Eason later scored to edge Emereau in front 3-2.

Hits by Jake Odham, Jayden Todd and Cody Rice plus an Aviator error plated 2 Hornet runs in the 5th inning. Three more errors and another Odham hit brought in 2 more runs in the 6th for Central.

Davion Lewis started on the mound for the Aviators. Rogers and Eason had the only 2 hits for Emereau.

Todd started on the hill for Central. Camden Butler relieved him in the 3rd and struck out 9 of the 11 batters that he faced to pick up the win. Todd batted 3-for-4 with 2 doubles. Teammate Collin Hooks was 2-for-3 at the plate, and Odham finished 2-for-4.

Emereau will host Wilmington Christian Academy Friday at 4 p.m.
