BLADENBORO- Bladenboro’s unbeaten Bulldogs rolled to leads of 22-3 and 33-9 en route to a 40-13 Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys basketball victory over Nakina Tuesday night.
Joshua Martin fired in a 3-point shot and 2 other baskets for the Bulldogs in the opening period. Elijah McCollum threw in 2 baskets, and Keonta Hill sank a free throw and a basket. Jonah Bryan, Hunter Hester, Sincere McKinley and Ashton Davis pumped in baskets as the lead grew to 22-3.
Center Kendell Lesane and McCollum tossed in 2 baskets each in the 2nd quarter. Teammate Gavin Elks drilled in a 3-point shot, and Hunter Hester added a basket to stretch the lead to 33-9 at halftime.
Jackson Pait popped in the only basket of the 3rd quarter for Bladenboro, and McCollum and Weston Hilburn worked the paint for baskets in the final period. Ayden Ross tacked on a free throw for the winners.
McCollum topped the Bulldog scoring with 10 points, and Martin followed with 7 points. Hester and Lesane netted 4 points each. Tervon Strickland led Nakina with 4 points.
Coach Joe Gore’s Bulldogs improved to 6-0 and are in first place in the Waccamaw’s ‘A’ Division. Bladenboro will travel to Elizabethtown Thursday.
