BLADENBORO –Center Kendell Lesane battled inside for 15 points Thursday night to lead undefeated Bladenboro to a 41-12 Waccamaw Middle School Conference ‘A” Division boys’ basketball victory over Clarkton School of Discovery.
Coach Joe Gore’s Bulldogs remained atop the ‘A’ Division with a 3-0 record and are 6-0 overall. Bladenboro will travel to Tabor City Tuesday. The Blue Devils, now 0-2 in league play and 1-3 overall, will host Williams Township Tuesday.
Ashton Davis pumped in a pair of 1st period baskets, and Blake Britt nailed a 3-point shot. Jaquan Lesane popped in a basket, and Kendell Lesane netted a free throw as Bladenboro built a 10-4 lead. Azarion Willis and Omar Powell scored baskets for the Blue Devils
Kendell Lesane took charge in the 2nd quarter powering in 3 baskets and 2 free throws. Sayvion Covington and John McDowell added baskets as the Bulldog lead grew to 22-9. Willis threw in a basket and a free throw, and Cayden Moore flipped in a basket for the Clarkton points.
The Lesane barrage continued into the 3rd quarter as Kendell and Jaquan Lesane lit up the scoreboard with 3 baskets each. Britt rang up a basket and a free throw as the Bladenboro lead swelled to 37-11. Powell nailed the Clarkton basket in the period.
McDowell and Sincere McKinley closed out the Bulldog scoring with a basket each, and Braylon Johnson made a free throw for the Blue Devils.
Jaquan Lesane followed Kendell on the Bulldog scoring list with 8 points. Britt tallied 6 points, and Davis and McDowell followed with 4 points each. Willis led Clarkton with 5 points, and Powell totaled 4 points.
