Jordan Robinson lit up the scoreboard with 27 points and led Elizabethtown to a 44-31 Bladen Five Middle School Conference boys basketball victory Thursday over visiting East Arcadia.

Robinson drained a 3-point shot, sank 2 free thows and scored 2 more baskets in the first quarter as the Cougars jumped out to an 11-4 lead. Allen Owens dropped in the other Elizabethtown basket in the quarter.

Sterling Thomas and Kasey Price delivered one basket each for East Arcadia in the quarter. Price then made 6 of 8 free throws and tacked on a basket in the second period. Thomas added a basket as the Panthers outscored the Cougars 10-6 in the quarter.

However, two more baskets from Robinson and one by Owens kept the Cougars on top 17-14 at halftime.

Robinson racked up four more baskets in the third period and made 2 free throws to stretch the Elizabethtown lead to 34-26 at the quarter break. Teammate Corey McKoy nailed a 3-point shot in the quarter, and Zarien Brown popped in 2 baskets for the winners.

Price blistered the nets with 3 baskets and 2 free throws in the third quarter. Teammates Charles Brown and Anthony Gregg pumped in a basket each in the period.

Robinson threw in 2 more baskets in the final period, and teammates Nijeah McKoy and Rasean McKoy tossed in one basket each. Owens and Corey McKoy hit one free throw each.

Thomas and Price collected baskets for the Panthers in the final quarter, and Charles Dizon made a free throw.

Owens followed Robinosn with 5 points for the Cougars, and Corey McKoy and Zarien Brown tallied 4 points each.

Price poured in 20 points for the Panthers, and Thomas contributed 6 points.

It was the second straight win for the Cougars, now 2-0 on the season.
