BLADENBORO- Jonah Bryan, Hezekiah Blanks and Gavin Elks scored goals Thursday as Bladenboro defeated Elizabethtown 3-1 in Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys’ soccer action.
Bryan fired in the first goal to stake the Bulldogs to a 1-0 halftime lead. Blanks drilled a penalty kick into the left corner of the net to pad the lead to 2-0.
Elizabethtown’s Jabril Algozy boomed a long free kick over the head of the Bulldog goalie and into the net to slice the lead to 2-1. Elks popped loose on a breakaway and knocked in an insurance goal for Bladenboro.
Coach Steve Thurman’s Bulldogs finished their season with a 4-1 record. It was the first loss of the season for Elizabethtown, which posted a 3-1 record.
