BLADENBORO – Jonah Bryan posted a ’Hat Trick’ of 3 goals Thursday to lead Bladenboro to a 5-1 Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys’ soccer victory over Tabor City.
Coach Steve Thurman’s Bulldogs finished in 2nd place in the Waccamaw’s Class ‘A’ Division with a 6-2 record. Williams Township defeated Clarkton 3-1 Thursday to win the championship.
The Red Devils grabbed an early 1-0 lead against the Bulldogs as Miguel Guzman turned an assist from Rylan Norris into a goal in the 2nd minute of play.
Bryan fired in the tying goal a minute later off of an assist from Diego Santos-Hernandez. The game remained tied 1-1 at halftime.
Bryan knocked in an unassisted goal to push the Bulldogs ahead 2-1 early in the 2nd half. Dionel DeLeon padded that lead by banging in an unassisted goal. Bryan completed his ‘Hat Trick’ with another unassisted goal as the lead grew to 4-1.
Benjamin Diaz closed out the Bladenboro scoring with an unassisted goal. Hunter Hester recorded the victory in goal for the Bulldogs.
