ELIZABETHTOWN – Tevin McClean recorded a ‘Hat Trick’ of 3 goals Thursday to lead Elizabethtown to a 6-0 Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys’ soccer victory over East Columbus.

Coach Jay Raynor’s Cougars finished in 2nd place in the Class ‘AA’ Division of the Waccamaw with a 5-3 record.

McClean drilled in 2 of his goals in the 1st half, and Ishaq Algozy knocked in a goal for a 3-0 halftime lead. Braylon Cromartie found the back of the net with 2 goals after halftime. McClean capped off his ‘Hat Trick’ with his 3rd goal that closed out the scoring.

Fox Sutton and Jerrell split time in goal and posted the shutout. Sutton was credited with 3 saves and Jerrell had one.

“Proud of all the guys and the growth they have showed over the last few weeks,” said Raynor. “The guys have made improvements on the field as well as in school. We thank our 8th graders for all they have given us and look forward to seeing them continue to develop at the high school level.”
