NAKINA – Levi Garcia scored both goals Thursday that lifted Tar Heel to a 2-1 Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys’ soccer victory over Nakina.
Panther Coach Brett Jackson described Garcia’s 1st goal as “a long roller that slipped past the goalie helped by a fake out by Alexander Saraoz.”
Nakina scored before halftime on a cross that was headed in and tied the game 1-1. Garcia scored the game-winning goal on a break away with 3 minutes left to play.
Dylan McLaurin keyed the Panther defense with 15 saves in goal.
Tar Heel improved to 5-1 and will travel to Elizabethtown Monday.
