ELIZABETHTOWN – Jayden Lewis scored 3 touchdowns as Elizabethtown rallied from a halftime deficit and defeated East Columbus 26-20 in their Waccamaw Middle School Conference football opener Thursday night.

Lewis broke loose for touchdown runs of 50 and 30 yards and raced 60 yards for another touchdown on a kickoff return. He also ran for a 2-point conversion and finished with over 100 yards rushing.

Prince McKoy dashed 30 yards for the other Cougar touchdown and totaled over 90 yards rushing. The Cougars trailed 12-6 at halftime and 20-14 in the 3rd period.

“This was a big win for us,” said Elizabethtown Coach Ricky Whitaker. “We didn’t have a program last year, and we were 0-6 the year before.”

The Cougars will host Clarkton School of Discovery Thursday night.
