NEWTON GROVE – No. 1 Eastern seed Hobbton defeated East Bladen 5-0 Thursday night in the 2nd round of the NCHSAA Class 1A Boys Soccer Playoffs. The Wildcats built a 3-0 halftime lead enroute to the victory.

Coach Jay Raynor’s Eagles, the Waccamaw Conference runners-up, finished their season with a 14-7 record. Hobbton improved to 20-3-1 and will host Waccamaw champion Pender in the 3rd round.
