BLADENBORO — Amiya McCarty and Adyson Carroll combined for 25 points Tuesday to lead Bladenboro to a 35-15 Waccamaw Middle School Conference girls’ basketball victory over West Columbus.

Coach Hayley Baxley’s Lady Bulldogs improved to 7-1 and will host Elizabethtown Thursday. West Columbus, now 5-5, will visit Nakina Thursday.

McCarty topped all scorers with 15 points, and Carroll racked up 10 points for the winners. Teammate Addison Wilcox chipped in with 6 points.

Demya Powell led the Lady Warriors with 7 points, and Alaina Spencer followed with 6 points.

Carroll sank 2 free throws and a basket in the 1st quarter, and McCarty popped in 2 baskets. Teammate Hadley Dove cashed in 2 free throws as the Lady Bulldogs grabbed a 10-4 lead.

McCarty tossed in 2 baskets and a free throw in the 2nd period, and Carroll flipped in a basket as the Bladenboro lead grew to 17-6. Carroll rang up 2 baskets in the 3rd quarter, and McCarty pumped in a basket to keep the Lady Bulldogs up 23-13.

Wilcox burnt the nets with 3 baskets in the final quarter, and McCarty threw in 2 more baskets. Sa’Bria Cobb fired in a basket as Bladenboro closed the game with a 12-2 run.
