BLADENBORO- Bladenboro’s unbeaten Lady Bulldogs rode a 22-0 first half blitz to a 35-9 Waccamaw Middle School Conference girls’ basketball victory over Williams Township Tuesday.
Kali Allen put back a rebound then banked in a 10-footer to start the Lady Bulldog run. Jaylen Clark tossed in a follow shot, and Michaela Hester rattled in a 14-footer. Natalee Sykes banked in a 3-point shot then sank 2 foul shots for a 13-0 lead.
Makenna Thurman and Clark banged in rebound baskets to begin the 2nd period. Marbelia Sandoval banked in an 8-footer, and Harley Jordan drained a 3-point shot to grow the lead to 22-0.
Allen popped in an 8-footer to start the 2nd half, before Jamie Lynn Godwin cracked the scoring column with a Williams’ basket. Hester tossed in an 8-footer as the Bladenboro lead grew to 26-4.
Jordan nailed another 3-point shot to begin the final period. Allen drove for a lay-up, and Hester flipped in a runner. Morgan Moore’s lay-up closed out the Bladenboro scoring.
Allen led the Bladenboro scoring with 8 points. Hester and Jordan followed with 6 points each, and Sykes finished with 5 points. Clark added 4. Godwin led Williams with 4 points.
Coach Otis Evans’ Lady Bulldogs improved to 5-0 on the season and will host Nakina Tuesday in a battle of unbeaten teams.
