CLARKTON – Clarkton School of Discovery’s Lady Blue Devils outlasted Nakina 18-14 Tuesday in Waccamaw Middle School Conference girls’ basketball action.
Nakina built a 6-4 first-half lead as Alaya White threw in a Clarkton basket, and teammate Shy’Asia Ratliff sank 2 free throws.
Ratliff tossed in a basket and a free throw in the third quarter, and White and Molly Evans pumped in baskets as the Lady Blue Devils jumped in front 11-8.
Cabria Baldwin and Gabby Nealy pumped in fourth quarter baskets for Clarkton. Ratliff netted 2 free throws, and White added a free throw.
Ratliff topped all scorers with 7 points for Clarkton. White finished with 5 points. Grace Byrd led Nakina with 4 points.
Coach Chris Callihan’s Lady Blue Devils, now 6-1 in Waccamaw Division A play and 6-2 overall, will host Hallsboro Thursday.
