ELIZABETHTOWN – Savannah Turbeville slugged a home run and batted 4-4 to lead Bladenboro to a 14-1 Bladen Five Middle School Conference softball victory over Elizabethtown Tuesday.

Turbeville also doubled, knocked in 6 runs and scored four. Pitcher Rylee Chadwick batted 3-4, scored 4 times and drove in a run. Teammate Megan West finished 2-2 at the plate with a run scored and a run batted in.

Catcher McKenzie Singletary batted 2-4 with 2 rbi’s and a run scored. Lainey Autry, Hannah Pait and Lauren Pait added one hit each to the Lady Bulldog attack. Autry scored 2 runs, and Hannah Pait and Lauren Pait scored one run each.

Chadwick struck out 6 batters and allowed a run on 4 hits and a hit batter.

The Lady Bulldogs bunched singles by Chadwick, Turbeville, Singletary, Hannah Pait, Lauren Pait and West to score 4 first-inning runs. Hits by Chadwick, Turbeville and Singletary produced 2 runs in the second.

A passed third strike and singles by West, Chadwick and Autry started Bladenboro’s 5-run third-inning. Turbeville slammed a 2-run double that pushed the lead to 11-0.

Chadwick and Autry reached base on errors before Turbeville hammered a 3-run home run in the fifth inning.

Hits by Sara, Ronkira Lennon and pitcher Laura Davisson produced a fifth-inning run for Elizabethtown. Davisson picked up the rbi, and catcher McKenzie Kellom connected for the other Lady Cougar hit.

Davisson struck out ten batters in five innings for Elizabethtown. Neither Davisson nor Chadwick walked a batter in the game.
