Catcher Kasee Singletary batted 3-3 and scored 4 runs and pitcher Kayla Dowless struck out 8 batters to lead Bladenboro to a 17-5 Bladen Five Middle School Conference softball victory at Tar Heel Thursday.

Singletary slammed a double and scored a Bladenboro run in the first inning, but Lady Panther pitcher Conner Brisson hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first to put Tar Heel on top 2-1.

The Lady Bulldogs bounced back with 5 runs in the second inning and 7 more runs in the third to take a 13-2 lead. Tar Heel scored twice in the third, but Bladenboro padded their lead to 17-4 in the top of the fourth.

Thirdbaseman Katie Guyton ripped a single and scored 3 runs. Dowless belted 2 hits and scored 2 runs. Teammates Ashley Hickman, Caroline Hester, Alyssa Smith and Alana King scored 2 runs each.

Brisson walloped the home run and scored 2 other runs for Tar Heel. Robinson and Reeves scored the other Lady Panther runs. Brisson struck out 6 batters in her 4 innings in the circle.

The Lady Bulldogs even their conference record at 1-1.
