ELIZABETHTOWN – East Columbus scored 11 runs in the 1st inning and went on to post a 16-1 victory over Elizabethtown Wednesday in Waccamaw Middle School Conference softball action.
The Lady Hawks capitalized on 7 walks, 8 hit batters and 4 hits. K. Bryant and S. Coleman slammed doubles, and J. King and E. Clemmons belted singles.
Ariel Cromartie lined a 4th inning single for Elizabethtown. Hailey Bennett was hit by a pitch and scored the Lady Cougar run. Niyah Wooten walked and was earlier robbed of a hit on a diving catch by the East shortstop in the 2nd inning. A’Nide McKibben was also hit by a pitch.
Elizabethtown will travel to Whiteville Central Tuesday.
