HALLSBORO – Hallsboro jumped to leads of 8-0 and 13-3 en route to a 13-11 Waccamaw Middle School Conference softball victory over Bladenboro Tuesday.

The Lady Tigers bunched 3 hits, 3 walks, 3 hit batters and an error to score 8 first inning runs and tacked on 5 more runs in the next 2 innings.

Mallory Bryan reached base on an error, and Holland Davis ripped a single to right field to start the Lady Bulldog 2nd. Brookee Singletary walked, and Leah Wilkins cracked a single to left. Bryan, Davis and Singletary scored runs in the inning.

Natalie Sykes, Gracie Todd, Kallie Bass, Marly Crabtree and Bryan drew 2-out walks in the Bladenboro 4th inning, and Sykes and Todd scored runs to trim the Lady Tiger lead to 13-5.

Singletary, Makenna Thurman and Pateyn Pope all walked in the Lady Bulldog 5th inning. Marlie Walters reached base on an error, and Crabtree, Bryan and Davis drew walks. Singletary, Thurman, Pope and Walters all scored to close the gap to 13-9.

Kali Allen reached base on a fielder’s choice in the 7th, Megan Pait walked, and Walters ripped a single. Allen and Pait scored to whittle the Hallsboro lead to 13-11.

Davis, Walters, Bass and Wilkins connected for one hit each for Bladenboro.

Singletary scored twice, and Pait, Sykes, Pope, Walters, Todd, Bryan, Davis, Thurman and Allen scored one run each.

Bladenboro will host Tabor City Tuesday.
