NAKINA – Bladenboro’s Lady Bulldogs claimed a pair of Waccamaw Middle School Conference volleyball victories Thursday over Elizabethtown and Whiteville Central by identical 2-0 scores. Elizabethtown was defeated by host Nakina in their final match.
The Lady Bulldogs defeated Central 25-20 in their 1st set then rolled to a 25-11 victory in the 2nd set. Bladenboro won the opening set against Elizabethtown 25-16 then outlasted the Lady Cougars 25-23 in the 2nd set. Nakina won both sets in their match against Elizabethtown by scores of 25-9 and 25-17.
Coach Jessica Rhodes’ Lady Bulldogs evened their record at 4-4 with the 2 victories and will play Tar Heel in the opening round of the Bladen County Volleyball Tournament Tuesday at Clarkton School of Discovery.
Coach Jessica Eason’s Lady Cougars, now 3-7, will play Clarkton in Tuesday’s 1st game of the Bladen County Tournament.
