Here are the pairings for the first round of the Three Rivers Conference boys’ and girls’ basketball tournaments. The semifinals and championships games will be played at Fairmont High School.
Girls
#8 West Columbus at #1 East Bladen
#5 Red Springs at #4 West Bladen
#6 East Columbus at #3 Whiteville
#7 South Robeson at #2 St. Pauls
All girls games begin at 6 p.m.
Interesting first round match-up is South Robeson at St. Pauls. Both of these teams are ineligible for state play-offs due to a fight in their last meeting at South Robeson. There was debate about whether they should be allowed to play in conference tournament, but conference is allowing them to compete.
Boys
#8 East Columbus at #1 West Columbus
#5 Whiteville at #4 Fairmont
#6 South Robeson at #3 St. Pauls
#7 Red Springs at #2 South Columbus
All boys games begin at 6 p.m. except for South Robeson at St. Pauls that will begin 15 minutes after the completion of the girls game.
