DUNN – Nine Bladen County athletes – West Bladen seniors Rylee Chadwick, Kylie Durden, Mackenzie Singletary, Kaitlynn Brisson and Madison Taylor and East Bladen seniors Karli Priest and Laura Davisson, sophomore Martha Simmons and freshman Niyah Wooten – have all been named to the All-Southeastern Athletic Conference Softball team.

Rylee Chadwick

Chadwick was also selected as the SAC-7 Player of the Year.

Kylie Durden

Durden batted .471 with 32 hits. The pitcher-shortstop led the Lady Knights in runs (35), RBIs (23), doubles (8), triples (4), home runs (1) and slugging percentage (.750). She also stole 14 bases. Durden posted a 3-0 record in the circle with 1 complete game and 13 strikeouts in 15 innings.

Mackenzie Singletary

Singletary handled the catching duties for West Bladen while batting .361 with 22 hits, 14 RBIs and 5 doubles. She finished with a .442 slugging percentage.

Kaitlynn Brisson

Brisson batted .333 with 21 hits, 16 runs scored and knocked in 20 runs. The outfielder finished with 4 doubles, 2 triples and a slugging percentage of .460.

Madison Taylor

Taylor played first base and pitcher. At the plate she batted .208 with 11 hits, 12 runs, 7 RBIs and 2 doubles. In the circle she recorded 4 saves and struck out 14 batters in 12 innings.

Karli Priest

Priest, a pitcher-shortstop, batted .319 with 23 hits, a team-high 20 runs scored, 6 RBIs and a triple. In the circle she posted a 5-6 record with a 3.32 earned run average and struck out 76 batters in 76 innings. Priest pitched 8 complete games with 2 shutouts and a no-hitter.

Laura Davisson

Davisson, a pitcher-infielder, batted .301 with 22 hits, 16 runs, 12 RBIs, 2 doubles and 2 triples. In the circle she finished with a 4-4 record and a 3.43 earned run average and struck out 57 batters in 49 innings. She pitched 4 complete games with 2 shutouts.

Martha Simmons

Simmons led the Lady Eagles in batting average (.470), hits (31), runs (20), RBIs (13) and doubles (3). The speedy outfielder also slugged a home run against Fairmont.

Niyah Wooten

Wooten who made a number of outstanding catches in right field during the season batted .288 with 21 hits, 15 runs and 11 RBIs. The fleet-footed freshman hammered 2 doubles and 3 triples.
