The East Bladen girls basketball team will play the lone home game among Bladen County schools while the West Bladen boys squad drew a first-round bye in conference tournaments this week.

The Southeastern 2A Conference tournament opens Monday and the Waccamaw 1A/2A Conference tournament opens Tuesday with first-round games scheduled at the home of the higher seeded teams. The Southeastern semifinals and finals are scheduled to be played in Fairmont. The Waccamaw semifinals and finals are scheduled to be played in Rocky Point at Heide Trask High.

The West Bladen boys (20-2) shared the Southeastern Conference championship with Fairmont (19-4). Both teams went 11-1 in league play, splitting their season series with home victories. West Bladen won 66-35 on Jan. 26 and Fairmont won 47-40 on Feb. 13. Both teams received first-round byes in the six-team tournament.

East Bladen (19-3) and East Columbus (19-1) tied for the Waccamaw girls crown after splitting their two meetings — East Bladen won 60-57 at home on Jan. 3 and East Columbus won 58-53 on Jan. 30. East Columbus won a draw for the No. 1 seed and a first-round bye in the seven-team tournament. East Bladen will host winless West Columbus on Tuesday.
