OXFORD, GA – West Bladen grad Sayaun Dent posted a pair of double-doubles this week as his No.1 ranked Sandhills Community College Flyers swept 3 games to improve to 8-0 in Region X and 25-2 overall.
On Monday night, Dent racked up 17 points and 11 rebounds as the Flyers rolled past the Guilford College jayvees 82-53.
Wednesday night the Flyers grabbed an early 30-8 lead en route to a 137-68 Region X victory over Carolina Christian College. Dent pumped in 15 points and pulled down 5 rebounds against the school from Winston-Salem.
Dent connected on 10 of 14 shots from the field Saturday and finished with 21 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals as the Flyers raced to a 105-57 Region X victory over Oxford College of Emory University.
The Saturday performance was the 10th double-double of the season for the Elizabethtown native who leads the Flyers in scoring (18.0) and rebounds (8.1) and also doles out 2.3 assists per game. Sandhills is the highest scoring team in NJCAA Division II and Division III, averaging 107 points per game.
The Flyers will travel to Misenheimer Monday night to battle the Pfeiffer University JV at 7:00.
