SMITHFIELD – West Bladen grad Sayaun Dent racked up 24 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists as his top-ranked Sandhills Community College Flyers rolled to a pair of victories this week.
Monday night Dent tossed in 11 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished out 2 assists in the Flyers 114-77 romp past the Pfeiffer junior varsity.
Wednesday night the Elizabethtown native pumped in 13 points, pulled down 6 rebounds and delivered 4 assists as Sandhills defeated Johnston Community College 75-59 to complete a perfect 6-0 Region X season.
The Flyers, now 27-2, were voted a unanimous No. 1 in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association poll. Sandhills will close out the regular season Monday night against Blue Lights College from Apex.
