Thoughts While ShavingIt’s Monday…..Columbus Day and for some a day off….for most in Bladen….Just another a work day.

According to Wikipedia, many countries in the New World and elsewhere officially celebrate as a holiday the anniversary of Christopher Columbus’ arrival in the American, which happened on October 12, 1492. Colorado was the first state to make if an official holiday. It was later proclaimed as a federal holiday and since 1970 has been celebrated on the second Monday in October.

A look back….The Annual Mike Merritt Bike Ride held Saturday was a huge success…..Late reports indicate well over $9,000 was raised to continue funding a Bladen Community College scholarship in memory of Mike Merritt…a young fireman who died at a young age, much too young…

Weather for today….Great……tomorrow (Tuesday) could be interesting….Southwest winds may gust up to 30 MPH late tomorrow morning thru early evening ahead of an approaching cold front. Some downed trees are possible across saturated grounds…Highs for most of the week expected to be in the low 70s…Low Tuesday night in the low 50s. Looking ahead….could be in the 40s Sunday morning…

Ever take time for yourself….quiet time….the only sound, a clock…tick-tock, tick-tock…

Bladenboro could name a new Town Administrator at their monthly meeting tonight….according to the agenda.
