The snow came, as promised, and at the Hester household, best description appears to be a dusting. Reports from the weather station at Curtis Brown Airport, Elizabethtown, NC, mostly light rain mixed with slight snow … Looks good on roof tops…

Friday’s forecast … Mostly cloudy through mid-morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 39. North wind 14 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Overnite, clear, a low around 23. North wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm after midnight. Saturday, Sunny, with a high near 53 and calm wind.

Schools are closed Friday. … Possibly some other offices and businesses opening a little late … should be cold, but business as usual by mid to late morning … Call ahead…

Early voting continues today and thru next week. Primary election Tuesday, March 3, 2020.

Nothing makes more news than an election and about as much misinformation around an election as any time during the year … some strange events, some will sell their souls for a few votes … not all. … After all these years, new faces, same old business … not all at the state and national level … sometimes locally as well.

Be aware of all sources that promote themselves as news, many are not real news sources … some satire … many with their own agenda … some by foreigners attempting to sow discord in America … according to several sources. … Stumbled across The Onion and The Babylon Bee … began to delve deeper and discovered both are not real source of news … look like news, report like news but by those who, again are promoting their on agenda, facts do not bother them … they use the sites, many times, to further their efforts or that of someone else. Tend to be more of them around election time. … Check national news you question on Snopes and Factcheck … probably other sources…

Enjoy hearing from readers … one of the latest is former Bladen County educator Dan McLaurin. He and his bride moved to Wilmington after retiring, several years ago to be near family. … We correspond a few times annually. He is a Campbell grad and remembered John D Loudermilk that I mentioned earlier this week. … Reminded me that it was Johnny Dee who wrote “A Rose and a Baby Ruth”. Another hit from yesteryear.

Promises may get friends, but ’tis performance that keeps them…

The middle of the road may not be the most exciting place to be, but at least you will be farther from the ditch on either side.
