FAIRMONT – West Bladen won the 1st set but Fairmont rallied to take the next 3 sets and claim a 3-1 Southeastern Athletic Conference volleyball victory Tuesday night by set scores of 22-25, 25-16, 25-12 and 25-12.
Junior Whitney McLean hammered in 6 kills, 4 aces, 4 service points and had a dig for the Lady Knights. Junior Emily Young slammed in 3 kills, 2 aces, 3 service points and had 1 dig. Junior Jenna McLean fired in 3 service points, a kill and had 1 dig.
Junior Makayla Wright pounded in 4 kills, 2 blocks, a service point and had 1 dig for West. Sophomore Trinity Meares checked all the stat columns with 2 aces, a service point, a kill, a block and a dig. Maddie Walters chalked up 2 service points, and senior Caroline Brisson tallied 1 service point.
The Lady Knights, now 1-4, will host Red Springs Wednesday.
