DUNN – Unbeaten Midway defeated East Bladen 3-0 Thursday night in the Southeastern Athletic Conference volleyball opener for both teams by set scores of 25-15, 25-23 and 25-18.
Senior Maegan Burney drilled in 6 kills, 2 aces and had 5 digs for the Lady Eagles. Senior AnnaGrey Heustess pounded in 4 kills, 2 blocks, 2 aces and totaled 5 digs. Senior Emma Turbeville was credited with 3 digs.
Senior Acee Campbell sparked the East Bladen defense with 6 digs, smacked in 4 kills and had 2 assists. Senior Karli Priest delivered 12 assists and added 2 digs and 1 kill. Junior Dyiamon Robinson smacked in a kill and 2 blocks.
Senior Trinity Cromartie contributed 2 digs, a block and 1 assist for the Lady Eagles. Senior Cydney Campbell came up with 2 digs, and junior Karly Ross belted in a kill and also had 2 digs.
The Lady Raiders improved to 8-0. The Lady Eagles, now 2-4, will host Clinton Tuesday.
