DUBLIN – South Brunswick defeated West Bladen 3-0 Tuesday night in the non-conference volleyball opener for both schools by game scores of 25-7, 25-23 and 25-12.
Senior Mikayla Winebarger racked up 8 service points, 4 kills, an ace and a block for West Bladen. Junior Raegan Davis hammered in 5 kills, an ace and 6 service points. Senior Alise Pait poured in 8 service points and a kill.
Senior Elizabeth Allbright knocked in 3 kills and 2 service points. Senior Patience Parker fired in 4 service points and a kill, and senior Madison Collins tallied 4 service points.
Sophmore Lexie Corrothers slammed in 2 kills and 2 service points. Junior Caroline Davis contributed 2 service points and an ace. Junior Callie Lewis added a service point and a block, and senior Brinkley Collier collected one service point.
“The varsity girls played an excellent game against South Brunswick,” said West Bladen Coach Gaye Davis. “They are a very talented team. Our varsity team only has 2 returning players. I am proud of how the girls have done so far. The true game is not always shown on the scoreboard.”
The two teams will play again Thursday at South Brunswick.
