ELIZABETHTOWN – West Bladen defeated East Bladen 3-0 Monday in Three Rivers Conference volleyball action by set scores of 25-20, 25-23 and 25-19.

Junior Cybil Campbell staked East to a early 3-0 lead with a pair of service points in the first set. Junior Lexie Corrothers answered with 4 service points to vault West in front 5-3.

Two service points from West junior Mikayla Meadows were answered by a pair of service points from East senior Sarah Johnson. Corrothers reeled off 8 straight service points to open up a 22-13 Lady Knight lead. Five service points from Lady Eagle senior Abbie Cross sliced the margin to 23-19 before West closed out the set.

Two service points each from junior Lorna Mendell and sophomore Kayleigh Raynor put the Lady Eagles ahead 9-7 in the second set. Senior Alana King responded with 4 straight service points vault West in front 12-9.

A pair of service points from sophomore Katie Evans edged East ahead 14-13, but senior Raegan Davis responded with 4 straight service points for an 18-14 West lead. A trio of Raynor service points leapfrogged East in front 24-22, before King served out the set with a trio of service points.

Two service points from junior Gracyn Martin and three more from Raynor gave the Lady Eagles a 9-5 lead in Set 3. A pair of Davis service points closed the gap to 12-11. East pushed their lead back to 19-16, before Lady Knight sophomore Shelby Pharr served out the match with 8 straight service points.

Davis pounded in 11 kills, 3 aces, a solo block, 4 service points and dished out 9 assists to lead the Lady Knights. Corrothers hammered in 8 service points, 4 kills, 3 aces and had one dig.

Pharr slammed in 8 service points, 4 kills and an ace for West. Meadows blasted in 6 kills, a block and 3 service points. Junior Jordan Benson distributed 9 assists and had 2 service points and an ace.

King knocked in 5 service points and an ace for the Lady Knights. Senior Caroline Davis came up with a team-high 16 digs, an assist and a kill. Sophomore Sidnee Walters smacked in a kill and a service point. Senior Callie Lewis added one kill, and Tatiana Hunt had one dig.

Raynor racked up a team-high 10 service points, 4 kills and 2 aces for the Lady Eagles. Martin fired in 6 service points and had one dig. Mendell banged in 5 kills, 3 blocks and 3 service points.

Cross delivered 5 service points, a block and an ace for East. Johnson smacked in 3 kills, 4 service points and 3 aces. Junior Ruth Ward knocked in 3 service points, an ace and had a dig. Campbell tallied 3 service points and a kill. Evans added 2 service points.

West Bladen, now 6-6 in the TRC and 7-7 overall, will travel to St. Pauls Tuesday night, while East Bladen will host East Columbus Tuesday.
