DUBLIN – Unbeaten West Bladen defeated Clinton 7-2 Thursday to move into sole possession of first place in the Four County Conference women’s tennis standings with a 3-0 record.

“The Knights and the Dark Horses both played some great tennis today,” said West Bladen Coach Jeff Atkinson.  “We were fortunate to win three of the four tiebreakers and we were able to get some very close wins in doubles.

“I think playing a lot of non conference games helped us be better prepared,” continued Atkinson. “The game could have easily been 7-2 in favor of Clinton. They have a very solid program there. I am very proud of how our girls hung right with them and pulled it out.”

The Knights, now 11-0 overall, will travel to East Bladen on Wednesday, September 21.
