Exciting game after exciting game was the rule in early February as East Bladen’s and West Bladen’s boys claimed enough victories to tie for the Southeastern Athletic Conference basketball championship.
In girls play East Bladen defeated Red Springs in their final home game to clinch 3rd place then the Lady Eagles made a run through the SAC-7 tournament defeating Fairmont then St. Pauls to win the tournament championship.
SAC Girls Tournament Championship: East Bladen 56, St. Pauls 49
SAC-7 Girls Basketball Tournament: East Bladen 42, Fairmont 40
St. Pauls edged East Bladen in overtime to claim the SAC boys’ tournament crown. St. Pauls defeated West Bladen in the semifinals.

Southeastern Athletic Conference Boys Tournament: St. Pauls 49, West Bladen 44
East Bladen’s Lady Eagles rolled past Red Springs in their state playoff opening round game before falling to No. 3 Eastern seed Elizabeth City Northeastern in the 2nd round. Both West Bladen and East Bladen’s boys dropped close opening round games.
