TABOR CITY – South Columbus exploded for 17 runs in the 1st inning, and juniors Daquan Cox and Bo Kinlaw teamed up to pitch a 4-hitter and strike out 11 batters as the Stallions rolled to a 25-1 non-conference baseball victory over West Bladen Friday night.

The Stallions pounded out 13 hits, drew 15 walks and had 3 batters hit by pitches. Freshman Easton McPherson finished 4-for-4 at the plate with a double, 4 runs scored and 4 RBIs. Cox batted 2-for-2 with a double, 3 runs scored and 5 RBIs.

Senior Carter Lee was 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBIs. Junior Jaheim Dixon batted 2-for-4 with 4 runs scored and 1 RBI. Junior Cole Edge singled, scored 3 runs and had 4 RBIs. Sophomore Dylan Culipher scored 4 runs and had an RBI. Senior John Harvey Gore scored 4 runs and had 1 RBI.

Cox started on the mound and pitched 3 innings, striking out 8 and allowing a run on 2 hits and 5 walks. Kinlaw worked 2 innings of scoreless, 2-hit relief and struck out three.

Senior Bryce Fuller and sophomore Garrett Dunham drew 1-out walks in the Knight 1st inning, and senior Hunter Elks lined a single to center field that scored Fuller.

Dunham, Fuller and seniors Hunter Smith and Kaden Revels belted 1 hit each for West Bladen. Fuller scored the run, and Elks drove it in. Senior Garrison Carr started on the mound and was relieved by seniors Smith, Fuller, and Aaron Wren and junior Jordan Hester.

The Knights, now 8-3, will host rival East Bladen Tuesday night.
