BLADENBORO – Senior Alex Brisson pitched 5 scoreless innings of 3-hit relief and West Bladen rallied from deficits of 3-0 and 5-1 to defeat South Columbus 7-5 Tuesday night in non-conference baseball action.

Brisson struck out 4 batters and walked two. Senior Bryley Williams started on the mound for the Knights and gave up 5 runs -2 earned – on 5 hits and 2 walks while striking out one.

The Knights tied the game with 4 runs in the home half of the 3rd inning then added single runs in the 4th and 6th innings. Senior Devon Strange batted 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored to lead the West hitters.

Junior Hunter Smith and Williams both walloped run-scoring triples. Junior Kaden Revels belted a 2-run single, and senior Brycen Blackmon cracked an RBI single and scored a run. Sophomore Jahmar Richardson scored 2 runs for the Knights, and junior Hunter Elks and Brisson scored one each.

Richardson reached on an error in the 2nd inning and scored when Smith hammered a triple to rightfield. Two runs scored on errors in the Knight 3rd inning, before Revels tied the game with his 2-run single.

Strange raked a single to right in the 4th inning and scored the go-ahead run on Blackmon’s fielder’s choice. Strange walked in the 6th inning and galloped home when Williams blasted a triple to left.

Coach John Ammons’ Knights even their record at 2-2 and will travel to South Columbus Thursday night.
