ELIZABETHTOWN – The East Bladen doubles team of sophomores Blaine Pope and Jair McElveen won 2 of 3 matches in the Southeastern Athletic Conference Boys Tennis Tournament Monday to finish in 3rd place and qualify for the Class 2A Mid East Regionals on April 29th.

Pope & McElveen defeated the St. Pauls team of LaTonio Morrison & Robert Setzer 10-2 in their opening round match. Pope/McElveen then lost to the 2nd seeded team of Elias Faison/Trace Hall of Clinton 10-0.

The Pope/McElveen team defeated the St. Pauls team of Aaron Regino/Jade Perez 10-2 in the match for 3rd place that secured their spot in the regionals. Reginoa/Perez had defeated the East Bladen team of Cooper Padrick & Andrew Lin 10-5 in their opening round match.

Clinton’s top-seeded team of Rece Thompson/Caleb Kennedy defeated Faison/Hall 10-2 in the conference championship match.
