DUBLIN- T. J. Barr, Tyree Burney and Jordan McKoy combined for 56 points to lead East Columbus to a 71-60 Three Rivers Conference victory over West Bladen Friday night.

Barr poured in a pair of 3-point shots and a trio of 2-point baskets in the opening quarter as the Gators edged ahead 18-14. McKoy and Donovan Worley chipped in with 2 baskets each in the period.

Sophmore Tyre Boykin tossed in a pair of Knight baskets in the first quarter, and freshman Shyron Adams and senior Gerardo Reyes bombed in 3-point shots to keep the Knights close.

Burney threw in 4 baskets to spark a 19-6 second quarter spurt that padded the Gator lead to 37-20. Adams, senior Jimmy Williams and junior Drew Harris scored the Knight baskets in the period.

Burney pumped in 4 more baskets in the third period, and Barr connected on a 3-point shot and a pair of 2-point shots to keep the East Columbus lead at 56-36.

Adams, Williams and junior Kerron Baldwin-Washington buried 3-points in the third quarter for the Knights.

Williams drilled in a pair of 3-point shots in the final quarter but a 24-15 Knight surge couldn’t overcome the East lead. Harris and senior Scott Bowen popped in 2 baskets each for West Bladen in the period, and Boykin added a basket and 2 free throws.

Williams topped the Knight scoring with 13 points, and Boykin followed with 9 points. Bowen and Adams chipped in with 8 points each, and Baldwin-Washington and senior Jonathan Robinson finished with 7 points each.

Barr led all scorers for the Gators with 24 points, and Burney and McKoy followed with 16 points each.

West Bladen will travel to South Robeson Tuesday night.
