
TABOR CITY –Sophomore Landon Stanley and freshman Hezekiah Adams drained 3-point shots that keyed an 11-4 closing run as West Bladen pulled away for a 47-31 season-opening non-conference boys basketball victory Tuesday night over South Columbus.
Senior Josiah Brown popped in a basket and a free throw, and junior Gary Parker added a bucket in the final period for the Knights.

Senior Javonta Matthews topped the Knight scoring with 10 points, and Ballard tossed in 9 points. Parker finished with 8 points, and Adams and senior Travail Baldwin contributed 6 points each.
Matthews pumped in a pair of baskets, Ballard nailed a 3-point shot, and Baldwin dropped in a bucket as the Knights grabbed an early 9-4 lead.
Parker sank 4 free throws and a field goal in the 2nd quarter. Brown bombed in a 3-ball and a 2-point shot, and Baldwin and Matthews both threw in a basket and 2 free throws each as the Knights opened up a 28-18 halftime lead.
Adams and Ballard fired in 3-point shots, and Matthews flipped in another basket to keep the Knights ahead 36-27 at the 3rd quarter break.
Isaac Ward led the Stallions with 7 points, and Rovaughn Graham and Jamal Brown followed with 6 points each.
Coach Travis Pait’s Knights will host East Columbus Tuesday night.
