DUNN — Sophomore Jackson Pait blistered the nets with 25 points Friday night to lead West Bladen to a 56-31 Southeastern Athletic Conference boys’ basketball victory over Midway.

Pait was smoking hot making all 7 of his 3-point attempts and connecting on 8 of his 10 shots from the field. As a team the Knights shot 52 per cent from the field making 21 of their 40 shots. Junior center Chase Williams was held to just 2 free throws through 3 periods but dropped in 4 baskets in the final period to finish with 10 points.

Pait also collected 3 steals and 3 rebounds. Williams grabbed 8 rebounds and added 4 assists, 3 blocked shots and 2 steals. Junior Hezekiah Adams contributed 9 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. Sophomore Tylik McCall knocked down a pair of 3-point shots for 6 points and had 2 assists. Freshman Kendell Lessane tallied 6 points, and senior Andre Moore dished out 4 assists and had 3 rebounds.

McCall and Pait nailed 3-point shots in the opening period, and Adams tossed in 2 baskets for a 10-6 Knight lead. Adams pumped in 2 baskets and a free throw in the 2nd quarter, and Lessane flipped in a pair of buckets. Pait bombed in a pair of 3-balls, and McCall netted a 3-ball for a 28-19 West lead.

Raider junior Ke’Mari McNeil threw in a 3-ball and 2 more baskets, and Anthony Graham added a pair of hoops in the 2nd quarter.

Pait burnt the nets with 2 more 3-balls and cashed in a pair of free throws in the 3rd quarter. Lessane netted a basket, and Williams sank 2 foul shots. Pait swished a pair of 3-balls and another basket in the final period, and Williams worked the paint for his 4 buckets.

McNeil topped the Midway scoring with 14 points, and Graham followed with 8 points.

Coach Travis Pait’s Knights posted their 11th consecutive victory and improved to 2-0 in SAC play and 13-1 overall. West Bladen will host St. Pauls Tuesday night.
