WHITEVILLE – Logan Butler scored two goals in the second half Thursday in leading Whiteville to its first win of the season, a 3-0 shutout of the visiting West Bladen Knights.

The Wolfpack, 1-4, broke a scoreless tie with 94 seconds left in the first half when Leonel Balthazer scored on a penalty kick. Whiteville sealed it when Butler scored twice in less than three minutes midway the second half.

West Bladen is 2-2-2 in non-conference games. The Knights are not scheduled to play again until Sept. 14 when they open Four County 1A/2A Conference play at Union.
