Clint_AllenWest Bladen grad Clint Allen belted 2 hits and scored a run in the first game of a Saturday double-header as his Coker College Cobras swept visiting Chowan 6-0 and 6-3.

In the fourth inning of the first game, Allen smacked a single to rightfield, stole second base and raced home on Will Winslow’s single with the fourth Cobra run.

Allen ripped a single through the middle in the sixth inning and when the ball was misplayed by the Chowan centerfielder two runners raced home for a 6-0 Cobra lead.

In the sixth inning of the second game, Allen was hit by pitch, stole second base and eventually scored on a bases-loaded walk.

The Bladenboro native drove in a run Tuesday in Coker’s 11-3 victory over St. Andrews.

In Coker’s season-opener last Saturday, Allen batted 2-4 with a run scored and stole 2 bases, but the Cobras lost 5-4 to Paine College in Augusta, GA.

In 4 games this season, Allen cracked 4 hits in 12 at-bats, scored 3 runs, drove in a run and stole 4 bases. Allen has played centerfield and leftfield.

Coker, now 4-1, will host Chowan Sunday at noon in the series finale.
