The Clinton at West Bladen high school basketball games scheduled tonight (Friday) have been postponed and rescheduled for Tuesday, January 16, according to the West Bladen athletics department.

The games were postponed because of the threat of heavy rain and high winds tonight, according to Bladen County Schools. All after-school activities today must be concluded by 5 p.m.

The junior varsity boys’ game January 16 will tip at 4:30 p.m. inside The Castle followed by the varsity girls’ game about 6 p.m. and the varsity boys’ game about 7:30 p.m. It will be the Southeastern 2A Conference opener for both schools.

West Bladen was scheduled to host Whiteville on Tuesday, January 16, but those non-conference games will be postponed. The schools will need to determine if the games can be rescheduled.

The West Bladen boys’ team has won 11 of its 12 games this season, including the championship in the Bladen Offroad Christmas tournament.

The West Bladen girls’ team is 4-5 and has won four of its last five games after starting the season with four consecutive losses.
