The West Columbus at East Bladen high school basketball games scheduled tonight (Friday) have been postponed and rescheduled for Wednesday, January 31, according to athletics director Patty Evers.

The games were postponed because of the threat of heavy rain and high winds tonight, according to Bladen County Schools. All after-school activities today must be concluded by 5 p.m.

The junior varsity boys’ game January 31 will tip at 4:30 p.m. followed by the varsity girls’ game about 6 p.m. and the varsity boys’ game about 7:30 p.m.

East Bladen’s next games are scheduled at Whiteville on Friday, January 19 with the JV boys beginning the tripleheader at 4:30 p.m.

The East Bladen girls’ team is in first place in the Waccamaw 1A/2A Conference with a 4-0 record. The Eagles are 12-2 overall.

The East Bladen boys’ team is in second place in the conference standings at 3-1 and are 8-5 overall. The Eagles are the top 1A team in the league, leading West Columbus by ½ game. The Vikings are 2-1 in conference play and 6-4 overall.
