As the headline reads, here’s some news and notes from the under the cushions of the couch about upcoming events in Bladen County.
• Clarkton Dixie Youth Baseball will present a Trunk or Treat at the Clarkton Ballfield Monday from 6-8 p.m. Candy, best costume contest, concessions.
• Bladen Recreation basketball registration will begin Monday, Oct. 31 and continue through Dec. 9. There will be leagues for boys and girls ages 6-12. Age will be determined by the player’s age as of Jan. 1, 2023. Registration fee is $35. Players can register online by clicking here or at the Parks and Recreation Department located inside the King Street gym near Leinwand Park in Elizabethtown. • A two-man classic golf tournament will be held Saturday, Nov. 19 and Sunday, Nov. 20 at Vineyard Golf at White Lake. The cost to play will be $150 per person or $300 per team. Practice rounds will be allowed Friday for $20. Deadline to sign up is Tuesday, Nov. 15. (READ MORE)
• The 2022 Pork & Beats Mountain Bike Race will be held Saturday, November 5th at the Browns Creek Bike Park and Nature Trail. The Cape Fear Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association (SORBA) is organizing the event. More info available at capefearsorba.com. (READ MORE)
