Dixie Youth BaseballTABOR CITY – Amare Campbell knocked in the tying and winning runs with a walk-off double Sunday as Bladen County rallied for a 6-5 victory over South Columbus in the District 2 Dixie Youth Baseball Coach-Pitch Tournament.

South Columbus took a 5-2 lead into the home sixth, but Zee Pone slammed a double to start the inning, and Devan Haire ripped a double to drive in Pone. Dylan McLaurin drove in Haire with a single to trim the margin to 5-4.

Joseph Burney and Xavier Clark belted singles to load the bases. With 2-out Campbell smashed the double that scored Burney and Clark with the game-ending runs.

Bladen County scored their other two runs in the second inning. McLaurin led off with a single, and Clark smacked a single to drive him in. Campbell drilled a double that scored Clark.

Campbell batted 3-4 with two doubles and 3 runs batted in to lead the Bladen hitters.  McLaurin turned in a perfect 3-3 performance at the plate, scored twice and drove in a run.

Pone batted 2-3 with a double and a run scored, and Clark batted 2-3 with an rbi and a run scored. Haire doubled in a run and scored a run. Burney and Jayden Bethea collected one hit each, and Burney scored a run.

Bladen County will play Columbus County Monday at 6:30 p.m.
