Dixie Youth BaseballPEMBROKE – Elizabethtown racked up 19 hits in just three innings and rolled to a 13-3 victory over Lumberton National Saturday in a winner’s bracket semi-final in the District 9 Dixie Youth Baseball Coach-Pitch Tournament at the Pembroke Recreation Park.

After Lumberton National took a 1-0 lead, Elizabethtown rallied in the home half of the first. Easton Bostic ripped a double into the leftfield corner and raced home on C. J. McCracken’s infield hit.

Brady Marlowe raked a single through the left side, and Tyler Eason’s sacrifice fly plated McCracken. Claxton Tatum beat out an infield hit that scored Marlowe for a 3-1 lead.

After Lumberton tied the score 3-3, Elizabethtown answered with 5 runs in the home second. Collin Cole beat out an infield hit, and Hunter Wood laced a single to leftfield. Isaiah Robinson legged out an infield hit that scored Cole. Conner Hill swatted a single to rightfield that scored Wood.

Jayce Hatcher lined a single to left that scored Robinson, and McCracken legged out an infield hit that scored Hill. Marlowe slammed a single to left that plated Hatcher.

Inman Carson started a 5-run Elizabethtown third inning with a single to centerfield, and Braylon Cromartie smacked a single to left. A throwing error plated Carson, before Cole beat out an infield hit. Wood knocked in Cromartie with a single to centerfield.

Robinson’s fielder’s choice brought home Cole, and Hill reached on an infield hit. Bostic poked a single to rightfield, and Hatcher’s fielder’s choice scored Robinson. McCracken knocked in Bostic with a single to rightfield.

McCracken batted a perfect 3-3 to lead the Elizabethtown hitters. Carson, Cole, Wood and Hill finished with a perfect 2-2 day at the plate. Bostic batted 2-3 with a double, and Marlowe finished 2-3 at the plate. Hatcher, Tatum, Cromartie and Robinson added one hit each for the winners.

Elizabethtown advances to a third round winners bracket game against West Robeson American Sunday at 5:30 p.m.
