PEMBROKE – Both East Bladen’s girls and West Bladen’s boys posted third-place finishes in the Three Rivers Conference championship track meet Thursday at UNC-Pembroke.

East Bladen senior Trevarius Carter won the boys 200 meter dash in 22.95 seconds. Lady Eagle sophmore Teronda Autry won the girls 400 meter dash in 1:07.99.

West Bladen’s girls 4×200 meter relay team won their event in 1:56.23. Members of the winning Lady Knights relay team were: senior Patience Parker, senior Tarea Lucy, sophmore Jamil Bostic, Victory Crawford and Kiera Porter.

St. Pauls won the boys meet with 178 points, followed by Whiteville with 97 points and West Bladen with 80 points. Red Springs was fourth in the ten-team meet with 74.5 points, and East Bladen placed fifth with 55 points, followed by East Columbus with 51.5 points.

St. Pauls also captured first-place in the girls meet with 174 points, followed by Whiteville with 154 points. East Bladen placed third with 64.5 points, followed by Fairmont with 50 points and Red Springs with 46.5 points. West Bladen tied South Columbus for sixth place with 41 points each.
Second-place finishers for the West Bladen boys included: senior Jonathan Robinson in the shot put with a heave of 44 feet, 6.5 inches; sophmore Tyre Boykin in the triple jump with a leap of 40 feet, 1 inch; the 4×800 meter relay team in 9:26 and the 4×200 meter relay team in 1:34.17.

Posting second-place finishes for the East Bladen girls were: the 4×800 meter relay team in 13:01; the 4×400 meter relay team in 5:02; and senior ShaHyra Hogan in the 300 meter hurdles in 55.61 seconds.

West Bladen’s girls 4×100 meter relay team finished second in their event with a time of 54.45 seconds.
Eagle senior A. J. Wynn finished second in the boys 400 meter dash with a time of 52.76 seconds. The East Bladen boys 4×400 meter relay team claimed a second-place finish with a time of 3:52.

Claiming third-place points for the Eagle boys were: the 4×800 meter relay team (9:37); the 4×200 meter relay team (1:35.29) and the 4×100 meter relay team (45.21).

West Bladen’s Parker took third place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.35 seconds, and Lucy finished third in the 200 meter dash in 27.48 seconds.
