East Bladen High School unveiled banners at Lenon Fisher Stadium Friday that honor two of their biggest stars, Desmond Bryant and Kevin Richardson.

Bryant, a defensive tackle, went on to play college football at Harvard then played pro football with the Oakland Raiders from 2009-2012 and with the Cleveland Browns from 2013-2016. Bryant has made 238 career tackles in the NFL with 26 sacks and forced 4 fumbles. He is currently a free agent.

Richardson was the starting running back for Appalachian State teams that won 3 straight FCS national championships from 2005-2007. He scored multiple touchdowns in all three of those national championship games and rushed for 88 yards in the Mountaineers upset victory at No. 5 ranked Michigan. 

Richardson holds Appalachian State school records for Career Rushing Yards (4,804), Single Season Rushing Yards (1,676), Career All-Purpose Yards (6,104) and Single Season Rushing Touchdowns (30).

He has worked as a pit crewman for Roush-Fenway Racing on the NASCAR circuit since 2013 and earlier worked for Hendrick Motorsports.
