MOUNT OLIVE – Former East Bladen star Eian Hines was named the Field Athlete of the Year for his performance in the Conference Carolinas Championship Track & Field Meet. Both Eian Hines and his twin brother, Ethan Hines, received All-Conference honors.
Senior Eian Hines (pictured, above) won the Long Jump Championship with a leap of 23 feet, 2 inches. Junior Ethan Hines finished 3rd in the Long Jump with a jump of 22 feet, 0.25 inches. Eian Hines also won the Triple Jump Championship with a total of 46 feet 11 inches.
His championships in 2 events earned Eian the designation as Conference Carolinas Champion. Ethan Hines won All-Conference honors for his 3rd place finish in the long jump.
The Hines brothers helped lead their Mount Olive Trojans to their 7th consecutive Conference Carolinas Championship. The Trojans piled up 268 team points and won by a 149-point margin.
