izzyevansAMERICUS, GA – Elizabethtown’s Izzy Evans scored his first 2 goals of the season Saturday, October 1 as his UNC-Pembroke Braves defeated Georgia Southwestern 5-1 in Peach Belt Conference action.

It was the first road victory of the season for the Braves who are now 2-1 in league play and 4-5 overall.

With the score tied 1-1 in the 23rd minute, Evans dribbled through some Hurricane defenders and fired a shot past the goalie to vault the Braves ahead to stay at 2-1.

Evans scored his second goal in the 59th minute to stretch the UNC-Pembroke lead to 4-1.

The former East Bladen star was credited with an assist in a 2-1 victory over Barton on September 14. Evans has played a total of 605 minutes in 8 games and has 4 shots on goal.  

The Braves travel to St. Augustine, FL Wednesday for another PBC game
